Key concepts of inequality in old age

12/06/2024

Description:

The number of people over the age of 60 is growing throughout the region as are life expectancies. This segment of the population is estimated to approach 200 million by 2050, making them more than a quarter of the entire population. In such a context, the concepts of healthy life expectancies, long-term care and diverse issues related to physical and mental health such as dementia and non-communicable diseases loom large in the process of closing this population group’s inequality gaps.
